Ace of Agency collects the first three books in the Freelance Courier series. This omnibus tells the story of Angela “Gel” Colson, a plucky teen who runs a one-woman interstellar courier business, taking jobs no one else wants, and encountering alien cultures and civilizations at every stop.
Gel is not your typical Human teenager. She’s left her adopted father and siblings behind and scrounged enough cash to purchase a derelict spaceship for her startup business. But the real story is that Gel only appears to be Human. She’s actually a mutant variant from a race of teleporting aliens who have hidden in plain sight for millennia. And as a mutant, Gel’s abilities are potentially more powerful — and much more dangerous — than the rest of her race.
Understandably, this has them more than a little nervous. They don’t believe Gel can keep their secret, and if she can’t convince them otherwise, they’ll resolve the problem by putting her to death! Gel’s mission is simple, not only does she have to prove herself as a competent business woman, but also satisfy the increasingly stringent requirements of an alien senate that holds her life in their hands.
Along the way she’ll have to resolve the succession (and potential coup) of a planetary dynasty, help a world deal with a prophet who is handing out life-changing gifts, and lead a group of aliens to freedom from the overlords who have enslaved them for millennia.
