300 years in the future, a large segment of the human population is living in space cities orbiting Earth. These facilities are administered by artificial intelligent systems. The first of these AIs, the administrator of Earth Space City One, is Proteus. A crisis on ESC1 forces Proteus to find Roger.
Their reunion is interrupted by Singularity. She is the Orbit Lives Corporation’s best hacker-spy, having gone AWOL with a mysterious stolen Corporation device. Singularity has been tracking Roger since he was supposedly killed in an explosion that killed his father and older brother and sent his mother, the famous developer of Proteus and Proteus’ creator, into hiding.
The head of Orbit Lives’ security hunts Singularity and the stolen device, which holds information regarding his plans to seize control of Orbit Lives and take control of the entire population of humanity.
