There’s no way to edit your own stuff. You have to send an email to admin@iasfa.org with the changes and the admin team (Craig or Julia) will update your listing. No, this isn’t the most efficient, but where the listings reside on the site requires admin access to dig in and admin for one is admin for all. Someone with ill intent could do a great deal of damage.
Alice – no one is browsing the site’s book listings as we know right now. You’ve talked yourself around in a hard circle and we still don’t have a BookFunnel link from you. I don’t know what else to tell you.
And we can always change the link back after the promotion or you could make the bookfunnel link have an and date and restore it if you participate in another IASFA promo.
Give us the bookfunnel link and we’ll update your listings. Please keep in mind that you cannot collect email addresses as part of the BookFunnel download page when participating in an IASFA promotion.
It was when we moved both your books to draft from live that the system automatically took you off the list. We’ll restore the books, but manually remove the tags for the promotion. That will restore you in the Author Index.
I have no idea what happened but we’re looking it. We did check out your two titles, but neither of them were free, so we shifted them both to draft status so they did not show in the promotion when we sent the newsletter. If readers come across books that aren’t free when they are responding to a free promotion, then they leave and never come back. We’ve spent a great deal of money building this list so we’re not going to include books that aren’t at the promotion’s accepted price point.
That hangup after upload is an ongoing concern. We’re not sure what’s causing it. After about ten seconds of spinning wheel of doom, go to this link and see if your book is uploaded – https://iasfa.org/author-index/. You’ll probably find that it has. As for the book’s promotions, in the author index, when you see the book you want to know about, click on it. Scroll to the bottom and you’ll see what tags are applied for the promotions.
Welcome across the board. The forums in here are anemic. Facebook continues to be the easiest way to share messages, coordinate, and learn.
Translating a series is worth it, if it’s a good quality series. I have three different series in the works for the German market. The first is my action-adventure, a light thriller that has done really well. Having four books translated has worked. My science fiction are a little slower out of the blocks, but those were less expensive to translate. A quality translation is upwards of 10 cents a word. I wouldn’t translate a bunch of shorts unless I could get it done for free because I’m not sure of the market for those. German readers are voracious when you deliver a quality story and a lot of it.
No – this one is not for you. And for what it’s worth, I’m going to cancel this paid bundle. We’re not getting what I wanted out of the applications and I suspect sales will be obscenely low and waste everyone’s time.
I’ve had only good experiences with D2D as well.
Did I approve you accidentally? To be a member of this group, you are supposed to have already published something in the SFF genre. If not, you can stay but get to it. Get that book written and show us that you belong here.
Welcome aboard – this is a professional organization, but we don’t charge dues at this time. We’re all about helping people to help themselves in putting their book into the right readers’ hands.
We get paid to create fantasies within which others indulge.
December 5, 2021 at 5:06 pm in reply to: Available for Meetup Writing Sessions (writing, not critiques) #30345Sure. Craig A. Price – start it up and let me know the link. I don’t have discord so it won’t be me doing anything on it. And that isn’t a call for training. I don’t have time for another social media channel.
