Matthew, I haven’t any UF covers of my own to contribute. I would say yours is spot on. I can tell what genre the book is. The typography is attractive and clear to read. I like the model too. There’s an intensity that makes it feel that she really is casting that spell and she really needs to because if she doesn’t she’ll be toast.

Blurbs aren’t easy! But they are important. I change mine every year or so and test for the effect on sales on the basis that if my sales go up then I’ve improved my blurb (bearing in mind that blurbs go stale because potential customers have already read them, and also that different blurbs may attract different audiences.) So that’s one way to answer your question. Change your blurb and see if sales rise.
I found a Keystroke Medium podcast with Brian Meeks a year back to be very helpful (here). I figured that if I tried to do what Brian did, then that wasn’t a bad starting point.
Of course, I still need to get eyes on my blurbs through advertising, reader magnets and word of mouth etc.
